Hello friends

I will be applying for visa in a few days from Bangalore for Jan intake. I see that the flight prices are going up and by the time I get the visa it would be very expensive. My course starts on 9th Jan and probably the orientation will be in the week before. I am thinking of booking a ticket for 20th Dec. Is this a good decision?

I would like to know from those who have already got their student visa if the Canadian embassy gives a particular date only after which I can enter Canada. For example, if I book the ticket for Dec 20 and when I get the visa will there be something like Canada entry date:Dec22? Then I lose the ticket and all the money and will have to book again. Seniors please help.

Thanks and regards

Hey ... U won't get start date in your permit but it is always advised to book ur tickets after the visa approval

My course starts on 9th Jan too, and i will apply for Visa nxt month mostly by 15-20 oct. There is one website for students where you can get tickets on discounted rates. Do check at times it may differ, but the last time i checked there was a difference of almost 200CAD.

https://www.studentuniverse.com/

also check the flight price on goibibo website.

you may get cheap flights.
Its always good to book flights after getting the VISA. Please let me know whihc college you will attend, you course duration and also let me know what all documents you have submitted for your visa file.

Cheers!!!!

Can only repeat and stress what previous posters have said unless you can book a fully refundable ticket which generally tend to be more expensive do not book any travel until your study permit has been approved. It is unfortunate that December due to the Christmas holidays can tend to be more expensive with people traveling for the holidays so hopefully you get an approval soon. Cannot speak for tickets from India but it is common from Europe anyway in December for prices to drop between December 23/24 and Dec 31st given people will have already traveled for the holiday and airlines are looking to fill seats

Try Air China

Uhm. Why would you apply next month? If your papers are in order, why wouldn't you apply now? Colleges recommend that you apply as soon as you have their acceptance letter. What if your process takes longer than expected and then you get a refusal and have to start again? Or you don't receive an approval until after classes have started and now it's too late to start?

So again, why apply at a set date? I see a lot of that.

As for flights: do NOT book flights before you have your approval. Just don't.
