Hello world.

We are a family of 5 (one born in Canada) and already in Ontario for the 5th year. Our PR cards expired at the end 2013. Renewal were requested Fall 2013, but currently only mine (father and Skilled Worker PR holder) was renewed. The documents for my wife and kids were sent back- I forgot to check one question in the forms (if they were denied entry before) so that we lost some time.

End 2013 I booked a vacation (Disneyland) for this march break and I was certain that by than the PR cards would have renewed (usual process time 90+ days). They didn't and I don't think that they will now in time. I already sent in a PRIORITY request incl. flight details and proof of payment, but I don't think that we will have it back on time.

My new PR card arrived this friday. Our son born in Canada and has his Canadian Passport. Means, only the PR Card of my wife and of our two daughters (going High school here) are expired.

I read into the topic via w3.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=605&t=10, but am not 100% what the right solution for us is.

What are your thoughts? I ll all tomorrow immigrations and ask for help. I ll keep you posted.

What passports do your daughters and wife hold?

Thanks for replying.

We all are holding the German Passport.

As German citizens are visa exempt as visitor, just carry your spouse and children's COPR when you return, you won't have a problem boarding the plane on the return. When you arrive back in Canada, the BSO can confirm your status.

PMM, thank you very much for reply.

Due to the fact that I am traveling with children means to me that I need to be 100% certain to get back in.

Should I bring any "supporting documents" with me? Expired PR Card? Old Passport with IMM1000 or similar? Ontario Drivers License is always with us, of course.

I wonder if my wife and the kids are "PERMANENT RESIDENTS ABROAD" and need w3.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5627E.pdf to come. During work my wife called Immigrations and they told her, we need to go the Canadian Consulate (in Los Angeles, we are going to San Diego) and request a Re-Entry Visa.

I want to avoid any drama or hassle for the family and am getting nervous now.
