Anybody else going through the Bogota Visa Office this year? I'm sponsoring my Colombian wife. We've been approved for step 1, and our case has been transferred to Bogota. If anyone has comments or experience dealing with Bogota, leave a post! I've read some of the older threads from 2011 and 2010, but haven't seen anyone recent. Here's hoping it is faster than the 16 months processing time posted! Cheers
i've applied through bogota, i was approved to sponsor in december 2011, we received a letter in early april 2012 to say they had received our application, mid may we received another letter to send my husband's passport, a new medical and some expired documents renewed...hopefully this is a good sign that bogota is moving faster than expected! fingers crossed!
we have not been asked for an interview yet, the last police check we were waiting on arrived today, so once we send that in, hopefully we'll hear more...i'll keep you posted!
We were approved for sponsorship June 22, and the file transferred to Bogota, but we still have to do the medical and police checks. Haven't heard anything from Bogota yet, but its only been 3 weeks since the file was transferred
I will, i just registered myself today on the site. I subimitted all my police certificates and the medicals with the application. i am just worried that the medicals will expire next month.

How did you get those done? We tried to get our meds done to send in with the application, but all the DMP's in Colombia that we called said they would not do the medical until we received an order from the visa office in Bogota...
Hi Cunnington, I ordered my application from CIC and when i got it there was a medical form form for the DMP, and my wife took that form to the DMP and medicals were done same day.
My wife and I (sponsor) have been through bogota because my wife is from medellin. It took us about 9 months. If you have any questions, I will gladly help you out.
