Birth Certificate queries

Hi All,

I cannot get birth certificate from the City now which is mentioned as place of birth in my passport as my parents have moved to different state and we do not have permanent address in the state which is mentioned as place of birth in my passport.

Please let me know if
1. Birth certificate is required for PR application to CIC.
2. What can be alternatives for this if required.

You don't need a birth certificate for CIC applications. You may need one for a provincial nomination, but usually, in cases such as yours, that requirement can still be worked around.

I don't have birth certificate, never was issued one, a friend advised to provide a statutory declaration instead.
