Don't Know if any one has had this issue but I received a letter from the Port Of Spain Visa Office in May asking for my son's birth certificate, I wondered why since we had sent all of that with the original application to CIC Mississauga however, I contacted the registry in Barbados where he lives got a birth certificate and sent it to them on June 2, 2011 now today I received a letter requesting the original birth certificate closer to the date he was born since the one they received was dated May 2011.
This is so frustrating because in Barbados anytime you request any kind of certificate you get a certified copy of what is on file at the registry but since it would have to be signed and dated by the registrar you will always get the date that it was signed as the official date this is becoming a major headache
That's plain silly. Anytime you request a birth certificate no matter where in the world (so far I know of some jurisdictions) you'll get a transcript of the original birth record signed and dated on the date it is issued. So I wonder if your VO is just making it difficult for you or they haven't made themselves clear on what is being requested.
If I were you I would first inquire at your local birth registrar to find out what is possible, then I will contact the VO again and let them know, hopefully the'd understand.
Thanks for your response thats exactly what I thought its seem very silly to me I have sent an email to our attorney asking them to respond to Port Of Spain

They want a birth certificate that was issued around the time of the birth not one that was issued years later. There have been instances with "late registration of birth" where there was a fraudulent registration. Or you can spend your time arguing with CHC.
PMM I understand your angle and they may have been late registration and some fraud in the past but the The birth certificate as provided by the Government shows the original date that the birth certificate was issued along with government seal we did not send a copy we sent the originals we received the first one dated April 2010 which was sent to CIC Mississauga and another one Dated May 9 which was sent to Port of Spain when they requested an original birth certificate.
