They have issued the birth certificate with complete information like DOB, father name, mother name etc..but on my name they have marked xxxx . MCD says that when they got the informatio of birth, baby was not named... so they issue birth certificate with name xxxxx.
as far as i know, 10th certificate and passport are sufficient proofs for dob etc and u don't have to have MCD or other corporation's / council's certificate. so u don't need them.
In India,Name of the child can be entered in the Birth Record free of cost within one year of occurrence of birth either orally or in writing. After one year, but within a period of 15 years (w.e.f. 1.1.2000 as per provisions of DRBD Rules 1999), name can be got entered on payment of Rs.5/- as late fee.
After 15 years of birth there is no provision to enter the name in the birth certificate.
In view of the above rules under the Births and Deaths registration ACT, you cannot now ask for your name on the birth certificate.
You may therefore enclose the said cert. with your covering letter stating the above and the fact that your parents did not get your name registered within the prescribed time frame of 15 years and therefore no name appears in the birth certificate.
I don't agree with the comment that one has to write the forwarding letter after 15 yrs of age.
You are correct that after 15yrs of age one can'nt get the Name of Child on the certificate but the Registrar of Births and Deaths will issue a letter stating that Due to Rule No. XXXXXXX name of child___________s/o_________ can not be endorsed now. This forwarding is valid through out the world.
I am sure about this because I applied for my child certificate when he was of 16yrs.
