Send in your 10th certificate along with an notarized document stating that as the birth certificate issue at the time of birth doesn't have your name on it, you are attaching your 10th certificate as an alternative. Make sure you send in the original copy of the notary along with a copy of your 10th certificate. prefer to get it done ASAP.

OK One more thing is one might not be able to send additional documents to CIC until AOR is recieved as they wouldn't have assigned a reference number till AOR is issued out.
So, wait for either the AOR to show up or you application to be sent back. As far as I know CIC won't reject the application if any document is missing before AOR is sent out. They just send it back with suggestions and corrections.

notarized document is not required in case of you are provide in 10th certificate option .
I did same during my CEC application , no issues i faced.
One difference in my case and OP case is I sent my 10th certificate with my package and OP is doing after package submission

someone told me to use this link , it might help. Anyone use this link before ?
I've issue with the birth certificate and I saw many posting out of it I kept the following documents instead of birth certificate .
1. Xerox copy of Secondary School Education (10th class) -- Needs attestation saying that it's a original copy.
2. Certificate of Date of Birth -- From consular general of INDIA
3. Prepare affidavit and get notarized.
you need to send all the documents in order to prove your DOB is authentic. I think there wont be any issue if you can provide them all the above documents.
Since I've seen 100% success rate I applied with all the above documents .
one guy CC got charged even h but his name was missing on DOB certificate but he added passport copy and so do I . fingers are crossed , I hope my CC will get charged
