i just wanna know is baptism certificate(from a church as im a born christian) equivalent 2 a birth certificate? i have a birth certificate which does not have my name('coz it was got 2days after my birth so im not named at that time),but has my mom n dad's name n DOB...i know that it wont be gud to send to cic...i used my baptism certificate for joining in school so is it ok to cic? obtaining birth cert again will take a long time....

Your baptism certificate is not sufficient. You need a birth certificate. You could try to send both and see what happens...

oh i c...gettin my Birth cert will take more time...in d meantime i'll send my baptisam cert 2 cic..

Are you the sponsor or the person being sponsored??

im d person bein sponserd by my hubby...

Then you need to check the country specific guide for the country you are applying from here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp#immigrate

My husband applied from India and in his case it states that a birth certificate and/or baptismal certificate is acceptable. So you may be fine with just your baptismal certificate. Check what it says in the guide for your country and if you have any additional questions, I would call and confirm with CIC call centre: 1-888-242-2100

1. i provided a birth certificate which was issued to me recently but it appears cic need not that so they requested for the one that was issued to me from birth which is missen long time ago,and i dnt also have baptismal certificate to show
2. my date of birth on my passport is 20th sep 1986 and the one on my elementary school certificate is also 21 sept 1991
becos when i was young i stayed with my granny and she changed it becos she didnt know my date of birth but when she died we saw it on her luggages and so i started using that cos it seems to be the original one but its missen and am so screwed pleaee i need your advice on wat to do now
