Hello! I am applying my Mom for sponsorship and while waiting for them to process it, I also applied for her visitors visa. She gave her biometrics 2 days ago for the Visa and today got an email from IRCC asking her biometrics for the family sponsorship application. Does she need to go again to give biometrics?

No, the biometrics will be valid for both apps but it's a matter of the biometrics that was done catching up to the family app. Submit a web form with a copy of the BIL from the TRV app with an explanation of the situation. If the BIL can't be attached make sure you include the UCI and application number from the BIL for the TRV in your explanation.
