Biometrics help

Hi, asking this on the behalf of a friend. She’s inland CEC applicant with her husband is outland dependent. They both received biometrics request in a month. However, her husband has two passports old and a new one. He by mistake took to old passport for biometrics and the staff at VFS also didn’t took the notice of that. They scanned his old passport and registered his biometrics. He realized about this after a day or so. What can be done in this case? His biometrics date is showing is updated and showing in the application. Do they have to inform IRCC about this?
