Getting everything together to send for an outland application. I read that all photos should be "loose", but this seems extremely messy. I had created a table of contents and wanted to organize the photos chronologically (maybe putting photos for each event into one of those clear paper protectors. Again, it seems terribly unorganized to just have all the photos loosely moving around in the final envelope.
Also, my girlfriend and I are looking at old chat-logs, call histories, etc. Do I have to print the call histories for each month since we started dating, or would it be fine to attach only a few statements?

Lots of people print their photos on regular paper, several to a page, which then allows you to print a description of who is in the photo as a caption.
You can also leave them loose. I would recommend you put them in a smaller envelope. This is just to keep them organized while being mailed, because whoever opens the package will discard separate envelopes, binders, paper clips, etc.
You can send a sample of call logs, chats, etc. Some from throughout the relationship is best. Then include a note stating that this is just a sample, that you have many more pages, and can send them if the visa officer wants to see them all.
