I have to agree. I would absolutely be willing to live somewhere with crappy whether for a few years if the money is right. Plus taxes out here in Halifax are very high.
Nevermind, I figured it out. Greater Toronto Area and Kitchener, Waterloo. I'm all for it to be honest. We have a friend in Waterloo who has been trying to get us to come out there for the longest time. We were just waiting to apply for Citizenship first as we heard that it would process faster as we are closer to Sydney office .
Anyway, I'm not in Tech but everyone needs a banker .

Oh, bankers, Toronto also has the largest financial market in the whole Canada So for tech and finance, GTA has the largest market. KW has a lot of tech and startup jobs, but not so much for finance. Citizenship application takes about 10 to 12 months nowadays (in Southern Ontario), so you should be good to go by the end of next year. But as a trade off, unfortunately, the GTA and KW have some of the slowest citizenship processing offices in Canada
I thought 11 months was already quick. I landed on July 2010, became citizen on Oct 2014, it only took 4 years 3 months to get citizenship.
I dunno how super fast is the process nowadays but if a person gets RQ then the process would take longer.
If you do not love the cold, then weather in Canada will fast become the biggest challenge of living here. Only two places in Canada I would consider living for that reason. Halifax, or Vancouver (though I believe Victoria is not bad either.
