There are good number of options available
- book directly from the airlines site. Safest, in case of cancellation or any modification to ticket.
- Indian online travel companies like makemytrip, cleartrip and so on. Paytm though not an online travel company is giving cashback of 10%. All these online travel portals have offers running every other day, check for those.
- travel search engines like skyscanner, kayak, hopper etc. It would list deals of different travel agencies for the same ticket. However, before going ahead with it check the history record for the travel agency that you would be going with. Also, it could be they might not be having customer care in India and in case of any issues with the ticket it can be a little problematic.
If you are not going for a direct flight just ensure that you do not book separate tickets. There should be only one booking reference for the entire trip be it then one or two stops.
God knows what intellect are you trying to find in a flight ticket. The sole purpose is you to get from place A to place B. I have travelled in classy Swiss and Brit airways and averagish Jet Airways and travelled through stinky Jeddah airport also. Again, I wanted to go from delhi to toronto so I pick the one which suits my pocket and schedule. This question is not worth posting in EE forums therefore the guy who asked you to go on google was correct 1000%
Bro .... u wanna comfortable flight ... book Etihad... it probably wont be cheap or non stop....but definitely the best service and comfort.... also if you do have the finances and its a one way trip, dont go economy, upgrade to business or first class. For such a long haul it is absolutely worth it.
in the end we might have to balance between cheapest flight and number of stops, layover time..
if i get good price from Kayak / expedia , my order of preferences are below.. experiences from flying economy.,.
1. Lufthansa - similar flight interval time on both sector.. shorter and easy flight transfer
2. Jet Airways - similar connections in europe.. sometimes cheaper fares
other options but pros and cons..
1. British Airways -- similar Onboard Flight time , but flight transfer at London is painful..
2. Etihad/Qatar - dont like shorter time to UAE/Qatar and a very long flight to Tor.. i prefer equal on air time.. and more over on Etihad you will be treated like sheep at AUH airport..
3. Emirates - similar to Etihad, used to be good service, not anymore and expensive..
4. AirFrance - never again.. took 1 hour in queue between transfer.. and long walk..
