Hello,

I need to know something about the bank statement. Is it necessary that it is stated the date and the traffic of transfers and withdraws from my account?
Or it's enough if it just states that I hold that account and the amount of money in it?

Besides, if my account currency is euro, should it be specified in the statement the conversion into CAD? Or better, since I required the statment from my bank to convert it from euro-CAD, should that be a problem?

Thank you,
R

It should have the details of transactions.

No need to convert it in CAD. The statement in EURO is fine.

Thank you,
R

Dear Zozeta,

Earlier transactions were reqd I guess, but according to the new doc checklist, transactions are not required, clearly. It mentions a bank certificate, and a bank certificate does not include transactions. It simply mentions that you have an account there for so many years etc and the current balance is XX. But please make sure you send the original that you recieve from the bank, in Bank's letterhead and signed and sealed by authorised signatory.

That's what we have submitted, plus term deposit receipts.

Good luck.

Sorry for the typo ("Z"ozeta).

Thank you Your Highness, but what do you mean by "term deposit receipts". The thing is that I used to have another account for years at another bank, and for some immediate needs, I had to interrupt it and withdraw the money and recently I have opened another account. What do I have to do in this case? Is there a problem that this is shown in the statement? How reliable am I considered?

Dear Rozeta,

As per the new checklist you have to provide either Current Bank Certification Letter OR Evidence of savings balance.

If you choose Bank Cert letter, they will simply mention that your current balance is so much. Thats it!

If you choose Evidence of SB then you need to provide bank statements.

So you may choose the former, in which case you are safe.

Term deposit means, certain amount of money deposited for certain period of time, say 4 months...6 months...1 year etc. Its more or less like fixed deposit with a shorter time frame.

Should you have further clarifications, do ask.

Cheers

Hello members...i would like to ask seniors for their expert opinion;

i submitted my application with two statements from banks "A" & "B" as POF. "A" is my company maintained salary account in my name and the nature of the account don't allow large deposits as it is limited to my salary only. "B" is my personal saving account having much of my POF. Will this work fine i.e two statements from two different banks?

Further to this, can i transfer my funds from bank "B" to another bank i.e "C" giving me good interest rate and other facilities also....please advise would this be a wise-able move as i'll be then submitting 3rd statement to my application that may create confusion to VO or may not?

Please advice...

Hi dear, no problem at all as long the accounts are under your name.

Read these post before making any decision about funds.
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/proof-of-funds-requirement-bank-statement-or-fixed-deposits-t76171.30.html

I kept 1500,000 in my bank for a period of 2 and half years and then I moved a few hundred thousand to an investment, three months after that I received my medicals, after a lot of running around, I managed to get my money back into my bank. Did my medicals, and sent it along with fresh proof of funds and fresh Police certificates. Then last month I received a letter asking me to explain the entry of large sum of money in my accounts within last six months! So I sent them the proof of investment and a letter explaining the whole scenario. Now I'm waiting for my PPR with my fingers crossed.

Therefor don't move your money till you get the visa stamped !

Thanks Salman for sharing this info.

Cheers..
