Your bank balance is your biggest assets....no need to worry...
Number of Family Members Funds Required
(in Canadian dollars)
1 $11,115
2 $13,837
3 $17,011
4 $20,654
5 $23,425
6 $26,419
7 or more $29,414

You have to show balance minimum to the above table......
Your bank balance should be more than this regarding the currency fluctuation...
5000$ is not enough cause if visa stamped its recommended to bring more money cause its varified by immigration officer...

Cause you will need this money if you are thinking of going with your family for the first stage after you get job then you will manage but for few months you have to have around this much cash...,

They ask for the Bank certificate to know about the applicant has got the required funds to settle in Canada if he/She has no job..
In other words its the survival cost which a PR applicant has to show...
