Just a quick question for anyone who has ever mailed bank/credit card records to the CIC for proof of financial status. Did you leave your account numbers showing or blank them out?
I'm sending in my and my husband's bank and credit card account statements for the past 12 months and they have our account numbers printed right on them. I don't want to look like I'm hiding anything but then again I'd hate to have my package stolen or abused by some unscrupulous IO...

I made my husband "desigated beneficiary" on my RRSP's and included copies in our package. I blanked out parts of the account number, but left name and address on the account.
As an "old banker" (therefore probably over security consciousness), I would not show complete account numbers. You never know what can happen with personal financial information.
Yeah that's what I was thinking too. Ok I will color them out with marker or something. Thanks
As a side question... do you think I should include my credit card records at all? They asked if we have any debt. I have two credit cards with limits of less than $800 each and I've never charged anything more than $200 to them at any given time. I've got a balance of about $130 across the two of them right now. Does this count as debt?

If they asked about your debt, as well, I would include them. They are small amounts but it will show 2 things: 1) a trend of how you manage what credit you have, 2) your potential total debt (the credit limits of both cards). Even though they seem insignificant, providing the information won't leave the IO wondering (probably never a good thing

).
Okey dokey. Thanks again buddy
Maybe mailing tomorrow.... *sigh*
