Bank Account while Soft Landing

Hi,

I am traveling to Toronto next week for soft landing and in 5 days will return back to my country of residence for a year or may be 2 years. I have this dilemma regarding opening a bank account while soft landing and would like to get advise on below point please.

Is it only when you land first time, banks can offer you a credit card when opening an account with them? I was thinking to open a bank account and apply for credit card when i move to Canada permanently.

Will i still be considered for the credit card when moving permanently say after 2 years?

Banks will give you credit card at the time of soft landing.

If you can get credit card during soft landing, somehow keep using it for 2 years ( for ex - use credit card to purchase virtual Amazon gift cards monthly that you can use after permanent move in Canada ) then you will have good 1-2 years worth of credit history to start with.
