I have a question, is the background check is within the country you live or the country you are from....and how long does it take for a background check?

Background check is done with all the countries where the person being sponsored has lived 6 months or more along with Canadian agencies. The time for background check varies from country to country. It could take from 45 days upto 6 months in background checks.

My husband did the medical in June, and I have send few emails....I got the same reply "the case is in que for officer to be reviewd" no updates ...someone told me that it might be in background check...still no news don't know what they are doing

Can anybody tell me how long after medical request they will request ppr .My husband was asked by the Vo in Paris to re do the medicals 3 weeks ago and he re did them in Tunisia on September 14th and I know they will send the results to Paris. But how long until they ask for passport? Thank you!

Hi, pre June 2010 applicants are getting PPR on average time 5-6 months.
