I am immigrating from the United States to Canada. My husband is sponsoring me and i am in Canada now. We are trying to get a background check done, but the FBI has yet to receive my fingerprints and it has been over two weeks now. I sent them by mail. Is there a faster way to get a background check? Can I get one from my local police station where I lived in the states?
 
You mean the police clearance that you need to submit with your application or to expedite the background process of cic ?
 
Yes. Can I get one from somewhere in canada? Its taking forever to get one from the states
