Automatic Visa Revalidation expired F1 CPT

Hi, I am on a day 1 CPT program. My F1 visa has expired and my I-20 is valid, as well as I-94. I also have an approved I-140 petition approved on file, but no I-485. I am planning to make a soft landing in Canada to start my PR clock in 2-3 months. I was wondering if anyone with the same situation made it back to the US from Canada under the AVR process. If yes, what questions did the Border Patrol officer ask?
