Considering all the immigration changes in Trump's Administration, has anyone here recently tried to return to the US using the AVR method?
is it still applicable or is it really needed now to renew our expired H1-b visa stamp?
I've traveled multiple times back and forth from US to Canada last year using AVR with no problems, but right now I'm hearing different news regarding AVR in trump's administration, I'm confuse and hesitant to travel back to Canada for a short trip.
Hi Everyone, any update on AVR as we are planning to visit Canada for my Visa stamping along with my wife who is planning to comeback using AVR. Great if we can get feedbacks on whether AVR is option is still allowed.
Ohh, even in Vancouver? I heard the processing is faster there. I have same employer and H1 expired with 12 months, so I thought that would make it ok. But thanks for heads up.
The person I talked to mentioned that it's the same process for all consulates. For interview waiver it's a 5 week wait time(YMMV) for review and then 6 weeks(YMMV) for sending the docs and stamping. Check with your attorney if you can submit it now from U.S and then travel to Canada only after receiving the instructions email.
My friend submitted Passport for drop off at Vancouver location and got his stamped visa arrived in 7th Day. So thats where I thought Vancouver might be faster.
Hello guys, thanks for the response, but what I mean is not about the interview-waiver for H1-b restamping, but for the automatic visa revalidation (AVR) where you enter back to the United States (from Canada or Mexico only) using the approved I-797 extension, valid I-94 and the expired H1-b stamp. I've used this process several times last year with no problems. but I'm not so sure this year because of many immigration changes.
Has anyone recently used the AVR process to enter back to the United States from Canada or Mexico? how was the experience?
