For me today I got update in tracker with background verification changed to completed while eligibility is still in process. What does it mean

Annnnd I received a ADR, asking for documents I had previously provided but with today's date Thankfully, that was easy enough to do - I submitted the new copies straight away. Now I wonder how much longer the wait will be

Not yet, eligibility and background are in progress

In pr tracker if you get the following noted under history, you are probably in compeherensive check.

Activity status updated: Background verification
Background verification
Background verification status has been updated to In progress
-------

But you should ask for GCMS notes to be sure about that.

I see the tracker shows last updated in early May but in the timeline section the last update was in March 27. So no idea what got updated in May. Are ghost updates also a common thing in tracker?

The updated date on the top right is not relevant to your application. It is a system update date.
