I started as a live-in caregiver here in canada March 28, 2007. I submitted my application for permanent residence april 24, 2009 and the immigration received May 5, 2009 and started to process May 25, 2009. After two weeks of processing my dependant(myhusband) in the philippines received an application kit he completed and submitted in the canadian embassy Philippines. I had my medical instructions and with my open work permit Nov. 17, 2009. My open work permit valid June 28, 2010. My husband had his medical october 2010 and a new NBI clearance, he complied everything. Then I had a second medical last and also my husband in the same because they said it was expired. I had my second permit valid Oct. 25, 2012. I received a letter dated july 3, 2012 and said that my application was completed and wait for the letter from scarborough office for the scheduled of my interview. I've been waiting for a month, i called the CIC the immigration said my interview was cancelled because they received an email overseas and asking for further information. I feel so hopeless about the information. I can't move on, I expecting that my husband will come in Canada before the expiration of my open work permit. My applications is almost four years and I've been here in Canada for six years. I can't take a vacation in the Philippines because it might jeopardize my case. Hope immigration read this and do an action and I am looking forward to heard a new update before the expiration of my open work permit.

Hi! As far as i know.. applicants from lcp are allowed to go home in their home country as long as they have the valid open wp and visa. Have u requested your caips notes? I think that's what they call it. On that notes, you'll see the remarks of the vo that handled your file... that might help you find out why they are asking more info and the reason why they cancelled ur interview. Research on the caips notes or gmcs notes... i think that's the other term....good luck!
