Attending to two different institutions

Hi i’m applying for langara college and I wasn’t able to get in to their September program, now the only choice I have is to apply for the January program. my problem is that i’m enrolled until July and my study permit expires on September 30th and there’s more than 5 months between the time I’m no longer a student until I get into langara program. If I apply for a course that lets me be busy studying between these 5 months. Can I get a study permit for the non essential program i’m taking and the one in langara at the same time?
