I want to understand the formalities or steps that happen at the time of landing in Canada for a person on PR.
I have received my PR and intent to land in August, before that I need to keep all things ready and handy, hence posting this thread.
1) What documents are required at the time of landing? ( e.g. Birth Certificate, COPR, Visa etc.etc.)
2) What are the common questions that immigration officer usually ask?
3) How much is required handy / or to be shown as proof of funds? and in what form?
(e.g. I know its $12k for 1 person and $15k for 2, but in what form do we need to show like - cash, fixed deposits, mutual funds, provident funds etc? or all cash?)
4) Any other important thing / information that an individual need to have while landing in PR?
Your advise will be highly appreciated. The individual's who have recently landed can also share their viewpoint, since they would have undergone this recently.
1. CoPR, Passport, current proof of status (if any) is a must. Other things like proof of fund, rental agreement, contact of reception are recommended but not required. I didn't need any of these when I flagpole
2. What's your mailing address? Do you have friend and family waiting at the airport? Where are you staying for the night? Anything to declare? etc.
3. Can be cash, bank draft, statement from a bank, etc.
4. Answer all questions truthfully. Know that they are here to help, not to keep you from the country.
Also there might be queue depending on where you land. This is particularly important if you have connecting flights
@mf4361 - thank's for your reply. Have few more doubts.

- Yes I do and nothing to declare
3. Can be cash, bank draft, statement from a bank, etc. - Statement from an Indian Bank will do?
4. Answer all questions truthfully. Know that they are here to help, not to keep you from the country.
Also there might be queue depending on where you land. This is particularly important if you have connecting flights - I am planning to land in Toronto, hence no connecting flight .
