Hi all,

So I sent in my passport to get the PR stamp and found out later that my granddad passed away. Now I need to fly overseas i.e. need the passport back, to attend the funeral.
Can I just go and ask for the passport and return it to the embassy for the PR visa when I get back?

Anyone else have to do something like this?

Thanks

Sorry to hear your Granddad passed away..I read your previous post "I got it"..I bet your very glad to get your passport in the mail!

I don't know how it works for things like that, i'd expect you probably will just have to wait it out for the passport :(
Maybe PMM or someone will have a more positive response, sorry to hear though :(

no i dont think it can work in this way and i am sorry your granddad has pass, may his Soul rest in peace.

You have to wait for the passport back. Once it is gone you have to wait.

My condolences.
Perhaps you could send them a case specific email with clear details.
YOu can access that from the web site

Thanks for the kind words all, but this worked out.
I just took in my passport and they stamped it in 30 minutes and i was able to travel.
