My common in law partner and I are currently in the process of applying for the BOWP with me being the primary applicant. In the questionnaire that determines the documents that we have to provide there is a question that asks if the applicant will be accompanying a family member who has status in Canada? the help text provides the following text :
Accompanying a family member means you will be staying with a family member who is already in Canada as a visitor, worker or student.
Accompanying family member: A spouse, common-law partner, dependent child or grandchild of someone who is still dependent on their parent, who plans to immigrate to Canada with the principal applicant. Accompanying family members are included on the application.
I assume that the answer to this question would be No, I do have a family member in Canada that has a valid visa until June that will be accompanying me (my spouse) but my spouse is not the main applicant on either the Permanent Residence or the BOWP.
