I would say salary slips are NOT mandatory if you have few years work experience. If it is your first job, it will add to your credibility. Letter from company will be sufficient too.
What is the recommended amount that a person <without any family member> should have in Canadian currency in order to show that he can bear all his expenses in Canada?
I have also seen that link in the CIC site but they have provided the details as per the number of family members not about the principle applicant so I am slightly curious to know about it too.
Please reply as soon as possible,
Thanks.

I think it depends in which field you are working. You should be paid at least minimum wage based in your Job. I couldn't find the website where I saw this information but once will find it, I will give it to you.
You can also refer this:
http://www.labour.gov.on.ca/english/es/pubs/guide/minwage.php
It also depends on how the company is doing in the currrent economy. When I applied through FSW-PNP route my comany made layoffs while my application was in progress. I received a letter requesting all pay slips from the current financial year to support my application.
Thanks mate. Could you please help me to sort out this issue as well,
I am applying for the study permit from Pakistan in order to do double MBA in Vancouver island university in oct,2014 to enroll for the sep 2015 session. In the mean time I am applying for the FSWP in the category of an accountant for PR from Pakistan,
Can I be eligible to apply for study permit in oct after filling my PR immigration from Pakistan? (Both the cases)
Please reply at your earliest convenience,
Thanks.
