Hello, I have a few questions regarding the sponsorship of my partner, hope some of you could help me out.
In June, I was approved to sponsor my fiancee who is from Korea. I am a Canadian citizen. He had already been in Canada with a student and travel visa prior to us meeting and starting a relationship.
In March, his travel visa expired and he is now in Korea while we are waiting on the processing times which are being done in the Philippines. In July however, after I graduated from a masters degree, I decided to join him in Korea for a two month vacation. However, he and I are still here to this day.
We are planning on entering Canada early 2014 but since I am currently unemployed (graduated in July) would my application be void? During the application process, my mother acted as a cosigner so I am assuming it would be ok.
Also, how would he be able to re-enter Canada? Would he need to apply for another travel visa or are there better options now that he is being sponsored?

This doesn't make sense, as there are NO co-signers or co-sponsors allowed for spousal sponsorship. So I don't see what your mom has to do with anything.
How did you sponsor your fiancee... as a common-law partner after living together for 12 consecutive months?? This would be the only way i could see it being possible.
If you say you have already been approved as sponsor, then there is nothing more you need to worry about in terms of proving income. There is no minimum income required to sponsor a spouse. If your mom declared in a declaration letter that she is willing to support you and you included it in your application, then that would be sufficient.
Also, how would he be able to re-enter Canada? Would he need to apply for another travel visa or are there better options now that he is being sponsored?
Citizens of S.Korea are visa-exempt to Canada. There is no special travel visa/TRV required. So basically if he just shows up in Canada, and he should get a 6-month visitor status. It's a good idea to have a return ticket back to Korea in less than 6 months, so the immigration officer will be confident he will return to Korea after the 6 months is up.
I'm his common-law sponsor and we've been together for more than 2 years now. And sorry, I was mistaken about the cosigner part. You are correct about my mother supporting me.
Thanks for your help, you cleared up a lot of the things I was confused about..
