Hello, I've received the letter of introduction that my application to study in Canada was initially approved IRCC.
My program start date is October 1st 2022 ( end date 31st of August 2023), and I was wondering what's the earliest I could move to Canada.
I'm yet to find accommodation so I was thinking of traveling about 2 months before the start date so I have enough time to find accommodation and settle in, I will be staying at a friend of mine until I find something on my own, I'm bringing with me about 16,000$ CAD (1 year diploma study program) .
I'll be traveling with an eTA and I visited Canada in the past if that matters.
On another note I had an eTA tied to my passport since 2021 valid for 5 years, but now it says "Following an assessment of your file, it has been determined that you no longer meet the requirements for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). As a result, your eTA has been cancelled. "
I'm unable to check my new eTA that was mentioned in the letter of introduction
It's not cash, just what I'll be having in my bank account + 3 months statement. I've given up on 2 months and decided to go 5 weeks before, I've talked with individuals who went between 6-8 weeks before their classes start and they were fine to enter.

IDK about other cases, but in my case my DLI offers medical and travel insurance that takes effect around 20 days before the term starts. If you're already covered by insurance that applies in Canada it ought to be fine, but they also mentioned that being uninsured (if one arrives before theirs starts and doesn't have insurance) is not a good idea (IDK if it's not legal, but you'll need to look the details up in your specific case anyway). With all the baggage mix-ups that are happening right now, not to mention the scores of cancelled flights, travel insurance will be a good idea I guess.
Not quite right. You actually can carry more than $10K. You just have to declare it. People misunderstand this rule. There is no rule about carrying more than $10K. You can definitely carry more than $10K. The issue is if you are carrying more than $10K and fail to declare it on your customs card.

Oh yeah that's something I've already looked into, I have travel/health insurance for trips up to 45 days so that would cover it until my college's insurance kicks in.
