I am facing this situation that might many of us are facing.
Currently, due to the pandemic and the low working capacity of the Ottawa visa office, I do not expect to get my ppr in the near future. However, for me, immigrating to Canada does not only mean starting a life in a new country but also a new career, which needs Canadian licenses.
To pull back everything back on track, I am thinking, while I am waiting for PPR overseas, why not try to apply for a student visa to start my training first?
Based on what I found on the IRCC website, it is totally legal to do so, and it is called "dual intent".
Here are a few questions about dual intent:
1. the field I am gonna study in Canada is not relevant to my current job at all, it is just my dream, and i wanna make it come true. of course I have been learning related stuff already. will the visa officer refuse my student visa in that case?
2. if my student visa is refused, will it affect my pr application?
