Applying OWP

Hi,

Got a visitor visa till 2024 April( same as my spouse WP, as written in my Document expiry date).

It does mean I can stay till 2024 April,correct? Or have to renew every 6 months ( as I heard visitor visa is for max 6 months?)

Is there a chance of OWP( open work permit )at the port of entry itself. If not, any idea how much long it might take to get one , if I apply from inside Canada?

No, you cannot remain in Canada on the TRV until April 2024. If you remain in Canada as a visitor only, you have to apply to extend your stay every six months.

If your spouse has a NOC A, B or 0 job, then you can apply for a spousal open work permit. I don't know if you can apply for the SOWP at the POE. If you apply from within Canada, processing times are around 150 days.
