My wife is visiting Canada while we wait for her PR gets processed and approved. I have being thinking in the last couple of days if it will be possible for her to apply for a work visa (or something similar if exists) while waiting for her PR. Has anybody gone through something similar? Whats the best advice?

If you applied Inland, you should have sent an open work permit with the application, your wife would receive the work visa at AIP (approx 8 months from submission)
If you applied Outland, the only way to get a work visa is to find a job and have the employer apply for a LMO.
The LMO is the hard part, the employer has to convince Service Canada that there are no Canadians available or qualified for the job specification. They have to advertise on local and National job banks for at least 14 days.
