I hope someone can give me an advice. My husbands' paper is currently under processing in Tokyo, Japan for Family Class sponsorship. My question is can he apply for a tourist visa , if so what are the chances of him being approved...No his not Japanese, his filipino working in Japan. If there is anyone out there that can give me an advice, please respond.....We want to spend our 1st year wedding anniversary together.....
Chances of the TRV being approved are unfortunately low. TRVs are meant for people who only wish to visit Canada as tourists, have strong ties to their home country and have no plans to remain in Canada long term. Since your husband has already applied to become a PR, these things will be difficult to prove - and this is the reason why TRVs are often rejected for people who have applied to immigrate through the spousal class.
The visa officer will note it - there will be a note attached to his file stating he has been refused a TRV. However, if there is only one, and since it was to come visit you, it should not hurt his chances.
