Applying for spousal work permit by a Permanent Resident holder

Hello guys,
Hope you are doing great.
Spousal sponsorship I know takes about a year to process, so I want to know after I am done applying for the spousal sponsorship visa, is it advisable to apply for my spouse's work permit too?
I am a PR and my spouse is outside Canada.

Please suggest.

Unfortunately it's not possible.

You only qualify for an open work permit if you are in Canada and have applied for spousal sponsorship through the inland process.
