Applying for Social Insurance Number online

Hello all,

Just have a couple of questions as I just received my open work permit and am eligible for a social insurance number. I applied online however, I received no confirmation email (I do have a confirmation number) and don't know anything about the processing time. Has anyone done this recently (Post covid-19) and if so, is not receiving confirmation normal? And how long did it take?

When you apply online , there is no place for you to enter your email address hence you won't receive any confirmation email . You should expect an actual letter in about 10 business days .

You are welcome . I just applied for a friend about 2 weeks ago and she got her letter today.
