Applying for SIN online

Hi - We are COPR holders and landed in Canada today. We are applying for SIN online, since the Service Canada offices are closed. One of the documents needed is a proof of address. Since we are new to Canada, we do not have any valid proof of address in our name. can you advise what needs to be done in that situation? Thanks a lot!

Service Canada offices are not closed. Find your local office and apply in person to get your SIN card.

Except for the fact that they stopped issuing sin cards end of March 2014. It’s now a piece of paper.

I booked an in person appointment with Service Canada to extend my SIN expiry date when my BOWP got extended.Call your local Service Canada and they will be able to schedule an in person appointment for you.
