Applying for September 2015 batch , passport will expire in march 2017

Hi there , i am applying for a student permit , its a 2year course , my batch starts from september 2015 and my passport will expires in march 2017 . So do i need to renew my passport , or i can renew it in canada ?? This is really bothering me . Please suggest.

No need to renew your passport, however they can only issue a study permit which is not more than the validity of your passport. You can renew both passport & permit in Canada.
