- Currently on IEC visa which expires in May 2020
- Australian Passport
- Based in Ontario
Employment:
- Title: Audio Visual Technician
- Half of my work is done on the books at a workplace, the other half I operate as a freelancer (self-employed)
- Average 25 hours weekly working as an hourly employee
- Average 20+ hours weekly working as a freelancer
- I also fall under NOC 5225 - Audio and video recording tecnicians
From what I've read online my only option is apply for the Self-employed Persons Program and then obtain an LMIA from an employer while I wait for my application to process. But I believe that would require me to be employed full-time somewhere which I am not.
What other options do I potentially have? Is this the best way to get my PR? If I do need an LMIA, what needs to happen from employee and employer points of view?

Did you claim job offer points? (You can't claim the job offer points without an approved LMIA.)
Have you maxed out your IELTS score? This can be an easy way to increase your points.
When calculating your work experience, you cannot count part time weeks as full time. For any weeks you worked less than 30 hours, you need to add up the number of hours worked and divide by 30, this will give you your total weeks worked. You need 52 weeks of work experience to count it as 1 year for Express Entry points. Any week where you worked 30 hours or more is counted as a single week of work experience.
LMIAs are generally extremely difficult to obtain. Process is here:
