Hi
I am working in Canada since couple of months of company visa.
My wife is in India(working) and has open work permit
My kid also has dependent visa.

I am planning to apply for PR now. My question is,
1. Should my wife and kid be here in Canada when I apply for PR ? If she is in Canada and working then does it increase chances of getting PR ?
2. Can I apply the PR while they are in India and may decide to travel later ?

1. No, it doesn't matter where is she currently living. Canadian work experience will give you more points in CRS and will increase your chances to be picked out of EE pool.
2. Yes, you can apply that way.

Thank you !
I know my Canadian work exp. will increase points but if my wife comes to Canada and gains 1-2 months Canadian experience. Does this increase our overall CRS points?

You can check it with CRS calculator tool on CIC website.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

As i saw there, spouse work experience points require at least one year of experience in NOC 0, A or B job and also won't add much, unfortunately.
