Applying for PR again and passport close to expiry - PLS ADVISE

Hi guys
I would be applying for my PR soon, however my passport expires on May 2015.
1) Is it advisable to renew my passport and then apply for PR (because processing of PR may take 8+ months etc)
2) Now when i renew my passport do i need to add my spouse onto it as my old passport didnt have her details etc?

If you are going to apply before December 2014, then you are good to go. You can always provide new passport details to CIC.

I am not sure what is the renewal process of passports for your country, but they might ask if you are married. It might automatically be added to your new passport.

Maniac - After I apply my PR with my old passport, would you know if I need to email CIC the new passport number or mail them that my passport has been renewed/or fill some forms etc ?

I had renewed my passport as well. I emailed them a scan of my first and last pages of my passport.
