Applying for OCI and surrendering Indian passport same day at BLS

Hi all,

I am submitting my OCI application and surrendering my Indian passport at the same time at BLS.

I noticed I need to submit proof of surrendering Indian passport as part of my OCI application. Can I submit my application form instead since I don't have the surrender proof yet.

You can no longer do both together, at least in GTA. Apply for surrender first, Once surrender certificate received then u need to apply for OCI.

Yes, you cant apply them together.

You have to wait the surrender certificate, then only you can apply for OCI.

I applied for surrender on Dec 23. As on today 18 Jan, the status is still "processing at consulate"
