Hi

After a long wait I will finally qualify to apply for citizenship this weekend. I plan to submit my application on Monday.

What additional docs should I include with my application package (the goal is to avoid the RQ)...

1.Letters of employment from all employers stating dates I worked there?
2.Tax Returns?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Do you have any absence at all? Just in case, it's probably advisable to give a few weeks margin on your physical presence requirements.

I agree. It's enough for CIC to say you don't have enough proof about the length of one of your absences, and this can ruin your entire application.

I don't have any absences from Canada at all. I have continously either been in school or employed (and have employment verifications, tax returns etc. to prove it). But I get your point and I think a 2 week wait would be advisable--or should it be longer

If you have absolutely no border crossings for the entire three years, your job will be immeasurably easier. Personally, I would wait a month if there was no compelling reason to apply sooner. Others on the forum have said 10 days even in cases more complicated than yours, so not everyone agrees.

Doesn't matter what you send you may get RQ'd regardless if there is another trigger on file or if its for programme integrity/ quality control reasons. The application form has changed in the last month with additional document requirements such as biographical pages of passports to capture some of the RQ triggers. IMHO unless you get the RQ form and fill out every required section with each required evidence (which CIC does not specify) you can't 100 percent cover the RQ angle. As a side issue CIC appear to be taking a position that RQ issue only a concern for the applicant submitting their application on the way to the airport on day 1096. Someone on this forum or maybe some other forum took their "I've been RQ'd" complaint to their MP and got told it wasn't affecting their day to day life after all you can travel, get medical care, jobs, welfare etc with PR Status.

Msafiri,

Well well as a Hero member of the forum, I expected a more solid answer.

You said "additional document requirements such as biographical pages of passports to capture some of the RQ triggers".....

Well biographical page of the passport was always requested and always has been requested. That hasn't changed.

Moreover, there is nothing called "Pages" for one applicant. It is only ONE page which contains the applicant photo and the date and place of birth, citizenship, issue and expiry date.

So how is that capturing the RQ trigger???

Oh my why thank you for your kind words...I apologize I didn't meet the high standards you expect of me Sir/Madam. I jest...

1. Requirement to submit biographical page/s was introduced in Q32012 as I recall shortly after CIC asked for applicants to give CBSA traveller data access consent.

2. Many countries issue passports with 2 or even 3 pages with biographical data...I also made reference to applications. If I remember my English grammar lessons such plurality carried through to the descriptor hence my use of pages...but then again school is out right.

Such pages can act/ support a trigger via the issue and/or renewal date as a mismatch to declared entries...plenty of such in Federal case law. I'll let you think of others...hey maybe you should stop being so hung up on my every word eh! Again I jest!!

Hi Msafiri,

Oh well you seem offended or challenged. I am sorry if thats the case, I was just looking for answers / clarifications.

Healthy discussion is what we all go for.

Thank you for your time.
