Applying For Citizenship with After Renewing PR Card

Dear All,

I have a query regarding the application of citizenship.

I got my PR in June 2015 and it will expire in June 2020. I stayed in Canada the last 2 years since Feb 2018 to maintain my PR status and I am planning to stay longer. My question is, when I renew my PR card, can I apply for citizenship after staying one more year in the new PR validity? Or I have to stay in Canada 3 years with the new PR card?

Applying for citizenship has zero to do with the PR card. If you meet the citizenship requirements, you can apply.
