Hi All. I have a question on eligibility for applying for Canadian Citzenship. My wife was here in Canada 3 years when she was denied our in Canada family class sponsourship application due to ineligibility. We then applied out side the country and she became a Pr in July of 2009. When I go onto the CIC website It says that when you calculate the 3 years she can get 1/2 day for everyday upto 6 months. Which would give her the rights to apply for her Canadian Citzenship 3 months earlier. The only thing is that she left Canada on a deportation order and only returned to Canada 6 months later. So my question is is she still eligible to apply 3 months earlier?
In situations like this, it is better to wait and not take credit for time that might raise questions especially since the difference is only 3 months. I'd rather wait for an extra 3 months before applying and know that your application would be "more straight forward".
