My friend is a refugee in Canada from middle east. She has a 10 year old son. She is not divorce and Her husband is not in Canada too. she wants to apply for refugee travel document after her hearing and hopefully her approval to visit her aunt in Germany. Any one know if she can apply travel document for her son, as a mother and they can travel outside Canada freely however she doesn’t have guardianship of her son from his father. Some one told her he can not apply for travel document and he can not travel outside of canada and return back, until she will get divorce and has son official guardianship letter from his father.

To travel with a minor child, you must either have the written permission of the other parent or be able to show that you have sole legal custody of that child.
