Ok last question! (probably not, but for now at least hah)
I am currently on a Visitor visa and will apply for an extension as the visa ends in early June.
My bf (Canadian) and I are applying for a Pr for me (swedish) in mid July (Common law, inland appl +
work permit).
Do I wait for my reply about Visitor visa before we apply for Pr or can we
apply while im on implied status?/which is better?
1. No, s/he won't have implied status, as s/he has not applied for an extension. S/he will be out of status and not eligible for "in-Canada" spousal work permit.
2. S/he should apply for an extension.

Remember that while your spouse or partner’s permanent residence application is being processed, he or she must:
Maintain legal status as a visitor, student or worker in Canada, and
Wait for their work permit application to be approved before starting to work.

1. I will be as I 100% AM applying for an extension
2. My question was if I apply for the Pr while waiting for my extension
to be approved or not
3. Implied status is whatever status you were on when applying for the extension so its
technically legal, if Im not mistaken?

Hi jvid23, once you apply for your visa extension, you will be under implied status until CIC make a decision on your visa extension. As I said, as long as you include your proof that you applied for the extension, you are showing that you are maintaining your status.
If your visitor visa is denied before or after your PR application has been submitted, you do need to leave right away to not jeopardize your application.

Thank you for your reply
If I apply inland I can not leave the country however..
I should probably wait to apply for PR until I 100% have a status here first?
