Applied for visitor visas instead of SOWP and SP minor.

I have recently submitted my study permit application along with my family members. However I was not aware that for my spouse i can apply for Open work permit and my school going child study permit. This i came to know later. I have stated my intentions that spouse would like to support my stay in Canada for 1 year as I'd like to carry my minor children along hence my spouse will be going with me. Is it ok to submit their applications now on the same portal while our applications are already in process(Mine SP AND THEIRS VISITOR VISAS)? Or is it good to wait until we get our visas and then apply for sowp and sp for child?
