Hi, I applied for study permit on 21 February 2012 but I haven't got any response yet. I applied for May session but then I deferred for September session because I did not get any response from CHC. I'm really worried. Can somebody please help me why is it taking too long?

some reasons for delay are ( for pakistan).
1: discrimination, college students are getting late replies normally from 4 to 7 months.
2:extensive security checks.
3:normally many people provide fake experience documents to cover there gaps,So after a long verification they send refusal letter stating that
you have not satisfied me that u will leave canada for one or more reason level of establishment, employment bla bla

Well due to some unknown factors, the college applicants are not getting responses from CHC Islamabad in time. This has started from the end of last year but things have gone worse right from the start of this year.
If you have provided the new LOA then you have to wait and hope for positive outcome. You can see the detail of other candidates, just like you, waiting for their medical calls. http://bit.ly/JNFIoC check it out.
yeah ,may be u r right but certainly I made this reason after observing forum and long waits for college student.,,it is clearly discrimination,,bcs some student of best colleges are not able to obtain visa.
@Ali: You can also interact with other Pakistani students here: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/application-status-chc-islamabad-summer-t99683.1830.html
I hope it's OK if I tag along this thread. I sent my application for a study permit to the Rome VO on May 10th and have received no notification. I also have no means of communication with them as they use a "no individual inquiries" and "no direct calls" policy. It's more than a month now and I'm starting to get a bit nervous. I know that it may sound like a short while to wait but my supervisor asked me to start research work with her in August and, therefore, I would have to move to Canada in July. Do you have any feedback on this?
I am from Greece, and have been accepted to the University of Victoria (British Columbia) for a PhD degree in Computer Science.
