Hello Senior Members.
Need some guidance on Super Visa for my Parents. I am planning for Super Visa but read on this Forum that it could be possible visa office only stamp for 6 months rather than 2 years, is this really true? if that's the case then what is point in applying of Super Visa? i want my parents to be staying with me for max period allowed under super visa.
Please sahre your thoughts and Suggestions should i still apply for Super Visa or opt for Simple TRV?
Thanks
Hi,
The validity of a TRV or a super visa would depend on the assessment made by the visa officer + the documents/situation of your parents. It's not possible for anyone to guess the visa validity.
You can either apply for super visas.... or apply for TRVs (and then extend their visitor status for up to 2 years as per the 'Authorized Period of Extended Stay'). More information is available on the CIC website
Cheers

Thanks Bryanna for the information,
So if my parents receive 6 months stay, i can apply it for extension within Canada while they stay with me?
Thanks again
Yes, you can apply for extension to their visitor status.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5558E.PDF
www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5551ETOC.asp
This visitor status will lapse if they leave Canada.... they will then be reassessed for a new 6 months stay when they re-enter on their TRV

So, extension can be applied for Super Visa as well depending on the visa duration , if i get 6 months on Super Visa i can apply for extension?
Sorry again for repeatedly asking because want to be absolute sure.
Thanks
A super visa may allow your parents to remain for up to 2 years (on initial entry). You can then apply to extend/renew their visitor status by applying to CPC-Vegreville about 30 days before their authorized stay expires.
You can apply for a maximum extension of 2 years. However, a 1 year extension will most likely be granted
Awesome Thanks Bryanna!!
Appreciated
